I haven’t posted in a while…a lot has happened. On October 21, 2011, my daughters, Rain and Alyssa, were hit by a car. Their best friend, Mia, was also hit. Rain was released from the hospital three days later with a brain bleed and a skull fracture. She has made a complete recovery. Just hours after Rain was released, Mia died and went home to be with the Lord. Alyssa spent 33 days in the ICU. She was transferred to a rehab facility three days ago. She has a long road ahead of her, but she is a fighter!

My daughter and I read your book, My Pet Dragon. We found your site and are praying for Alyssa. God bless you all.
Christin, my Friend and Sister in Christ. I’ve been watching as she progresses and, a reminder, we are praying for her complete and full recovery. I am truly, truly blessed by your strength and faith in all of this, and I am most certainly blessed by Rain and Alyssa’s, and no words will ever be able to express my condolences to Mia’s family.
No words.
Jesus…
I actually heard about the accident somewhere else. I’m sorry to hear about Mia, relieved to hear that Rain’s recovering and praying that Alyssa recovers fully.
It’s great to hear that she’s recovering so well.
My wife’s cousin had a horrible accident a few years back that put her in a coma for 2 months. During the course of her recovery, she nearly died several times, had to relearn how to speak and walk, and suffered immeasurably. During Thanksgiving, I showed her the project I was working on (My Little Pet Dragon). The picture of Alyssa in the hospital brought tears to her eyes, for she too remembered what it was like to be confined to that bed, and not being able to do anything about it.
To a speedy and healthy recovery. As always, send Alyssa my love.
